Iran denies closing border with Pakistan, blames import documentation changes for LPG trade disruption

Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, said on X that Iran had not restricted exports to Pakistan, including LPG, and had not shut its borders. He attributed stalled cargo movements to revisions in Pakistan’s import E-Form requirements, which he said were preventing traders from sending goods across the border.

Moghadam said discussions with Pakistani officials were in progress to address the documentation issue. He also reported that hundreds of LPG-carrying trucks had crossed at Rimdan-Gabd but had been waiting on the Pakistani side for weeks to be unloaded or cleared, disrupting bilateral cargo flows. Profit by Pakistan Today reported that Iran said it remained committed to facilitating trade with Pakistan.
