Kuwait lifts oil output to highest since start of Iran war, source says
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Kuwait produced 2.1 million barrels of crude per day in October, more than 300,000 barrels per day above September and its strongest level since the Iran war began, Business Recorder reported, citing Reuters. The source said September output was around 1.77 million barrels per day. The person familiar with the figures was not authorised to discuss them publicly.
The increase came as shipping faced a record number of attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, while Gulf producers continued to sustain or raise production despite disruption risks. Kuwait’s output before the war began in late February was nearly 2.6 million barrels per day, but the conflict disrupted exports through the strait and led Kuwait and other regional producers to reduce supply. Kuwait Petroleum Corporation did not immediately reply to Reuters’ request for comment.
At a glance
- Kuwait’s October crude production reached 2.1 million barrels per day.
- Output rose by more than 300,000 barrels per day from September.
