Bank Makramah approves Rs10bn sponsor investment
Mettis Global • • 1 min read

According to Mettis Global, Bank Makramah Limited (PSX: BML) has approved a further Rs10bn capital injection from its sponsor. The bank's board signed off on the plan at its 159th sitting on August 18, 2026. Under the approval, the board gave the President and Chief Executive Officer authority to sign an agreement under which the sponsor will deposit the funds.
Until the required regulatory and corporate approvals are secured, the Rs10bn will be booked in the bank's accounts as an advance toward share subscription. Those approvals are needed before the shares can be issued to the sponsor via a route other than a rights issue. The bank informed the stock exchange of the decision through a formal notification.
