According to Business Recorder, Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has praised a collaboration between United Bank Limited (UBL) and Universal Agri Tractor Company (UATC) aimed at easing farmers' access to finance and modern equipment. Speaking at the signing ceremony, he said farming remains the foundation of the national economy and that supporting cultivators is central to economic stability, food security and steady growth. He added that the deal marks a significant move toward putting contemporary machinery and credit within reach of more growers.
Hashmi argued that mechanisation could raise productivity, cut production costs and allow sowing and harvesting to happen on time. He noted that pairing UBL's agricultural lending experience with UATC's tractor manufacturing skills could benefit farmers and support rural areas. He also urged closer cooperation between banks and the industrial sector to spread modern technology, lift crop output and raise farmer incomes.
At the event, he cut a ribbon to unveil UATC's electric vehicle. He then inspected the company's tractor and EV and test-drove both vehicles.
