OGDC starts gas, condensate production from Bitrism East-1 well

Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) began commercial output from its Bitrism East-1 exploratory well on October 22, 2026, producing 7 MMSCFD of gas and 200 barrels of condensate daily. Mettis Global reported that the gas, drawn from the Basal Sands, is already entering the SSGCL network after processing.

OGDC expects to increase production in stages once the well flow stabilises. It built an approximately 28-kilometre, 8-inch pipeline to connect the well in District Khairpur, Sindh, with its Sinjhoro Plant, using in-house resources. The discovery was announced on October 1, 2025; OGDC operates the licence with a 77.5% interest, alongside Government Holdings (Private) Limited, which holds 22.5%. The start-up links the company’s exploration activity to domestic gas and condensate supply.
