OGDCL initiates hydrocarbon production at Khairpur’s exploratory well

OGDCL has brought the Bitrism East-1 exploratory well in Khairpur, Sindh, into production, Business Recorder reported on Thursday. The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that output currently comprises 7.0 million standard cubic feet of gas a day and 200 barrels of condensate a day from the Lower Goru Formation’s Basal Sands. OGDCL operates the licence with a 77.5% interest, alongside Government Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, which owns the other 22.5%.

A roughly 28-kilometre, 8-inch pipeline built with OGDCL’s own resources connects the well to the Sinjhoro processing plant. Gas that has undergone processing is being delivered into the SSGCL network, while OGDCL said volumes could rise in stages as well flows stabilise. The development brings a new producing well into the domestic supply chain and adds condensate output alongside gas.
