Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Quantum Data Technologies, traded on the PSX as QTECH, has signed a cooperation and market development framework with Guangzhou Great Power Energy & Technology, a Chinese company, as it moves into energy storage. According to a notice filed with the stock exchange on Wednesday, the two sides plan to explore local assembly of lithium-based battery systems. The proposed range covers home and commercial packs, industrial and utility-scale storage, and solutions for data centres, AI infrastructure and EV battery infrastructure.
The company, previously Chakwal Spinning Mills Limited, argued that dependable power and energy security are vital for Pakistan's technological progress, particularly for a firm focused on data and AI. It called the battery venture a meaningful move within a wider effort to build new technology businesses and generate long-term value for shareholders.
Great Power is a Shenzhen-listed Chinese firm that researches, makes and sells batteries for energy storage, new energy vehicles, consumer electronics and smart home and security products, both at home and abroad. The report put its market value at about $4 billion as of October 13, 2026.
