QTECH signs agreement with China's Great Power to explore lithium battery assembly in Pakistan
Profit by Pakistan Today • • 1 min read

Quantum Data Technologies Limited (QTECH), previously called Chakwal Spinning Mills Limited, has agreed with China's Guangzhou Great Power Energy & Technology Co. Ltd. to examine assembling lithium battery storage units in Pakistan. Profit by Pakistan Today reported that QTECH informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange of the arrangement on Wednesday. Under the framework, the company plans to bring these products in and gradually take over their assembly here.
The planned tie-up spans home and commercial battery packs, along with industrial and utility-scale storage systems. It also reaches solutions for data facilities, artificial intelligence infrastructure, electric vehicle battery infrastructure and other power-hungry uses. Great Power, a Chinese battery producer focused on lithium cells and storage products, is listed in Shenzhen and had a market value of about $4 billion as of October 13, 2026.
QTECH described the step as part of a wider move into technology-led ventures, placing emphasis on energy security and dependable power for Pakistan's growing digital base. The company argued that steady electricity is central to progress in technology, particularly as data-heavy workloads expand. QTECH, which was set up in Pakistan on January 31, 1988, currently works in IT and IT-enabled services, so the arrangement would take it into the energy storage sector.
