Apple launches into foldable market as iPhone Duo sales begin
BUSINESS RECORDER • • 1 min read

Apple began selling its first foldable handset, the iPhone Duo, on Friday, with early orders already pushing estimated delivery dates in some markets to late January. Business Recorder reported that initial stock will be restricted in several countries, while some markets will offer the phone only to customers who placed online orders.
Reviews have praised the hinge and design but raised concerns about camera features, app support and everyday use when the device is folded. IDC forecasts Apple will account for 44% of foldable-phone value and 31% of units in 2026, and lead the category by both measures in 2027. The launch is a notable development for the technology and communication sector as Apple seeks to expand a market that has so far remained relatively small.
