Gold and silver prices moved lower in Pakistan on Friday, October 30, according to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association, as reported by Mettis Global. A tola of 24-karat gold was priced at Rs420,536, a daily decrease of Rs5,100; the 10-gram rate stood at Rs360,541, down Rs4,373.
The quoted 22-karat gold rate was Rs330,507 per 10 grams. Silver also weakened, with 24-karat metal at Rs5,530 per tola, lower by Rs238, and Rs4,741 per 10 grams, down Rs204. Overseas, spot gold was near $3,973 an ounce, a drop of $34.5, or 0.86%, from the prior session. Mettis Global attributed the international decline to oil-related inflation concerns and stronger-than-expected US inflation figures, which reinforced expectations of another Federal Reserve rate increase before year-end.
