PSX: KSE-100 ends in red after late sell-off
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Business Recorder reported that the KSE-100 finished Friday at 166,409.25, down 784.18 points, or 0.47%, after selling gathered pace in the latter part of the session. The index moved sharply early on and later traded near 167,000, but could not hold its recovery and closed close to the day’s low of 166,326.69.
The decline followed Thursday’s 1,456.68-point rise, when the benchmark ended at 167,193.44. Separately, the finance ministry forecast October inflation at 9.5% to 10.5%, citing higher energy and food prices; overseas, technology shares fell as investors questioned whether heavy AI spending would generate adequate returns, while concerns about a major Binance hack weighed on cryptocurrency markets.
The report combines a domestic market reversal with inflation expectations and weaker global risk sentiment, all of which are relevant context for investors tracking the KSE-100.
