Sazgar inaugurates first overseas assembly plant in Philippines

Sazgar Engineering Works opened a vehicle-assembly facility in the Philippines on October 29, its first such operation outside Pakistan, Profit by Pakistan Today reported. The plant in Laguna province is designed to assemble around 12,000 three-wheelers a year, including electric and petrol-powered models, and was inaugurated by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Marcos said the project fits the Philippines’ goal of attracting manufacturers that produce locally, and noted potential benefits for employment, manufacturing and cleaner transport. Sazgar says its electric three-wheelers can cover 100 to 210 kilometres on one charge. The company had named the Philippines, Mexico and Afghanistan as target export markets in September 2025; the new facility adds local assembly to its existing overseas sales and exports.
