Weekly Market Roundup

Mettis Global reported that the KSE-100 rose 2.48% in the week ended October 30, closing at 166,409.25, up 4,034.37 points from the previous week. PSX market capitalization also climbed, reaching Rs4.660 trillion, an increase of about Rs106.51 billion. The report attributed the recovery to easing crude prices and renewed diplomatic efforts over the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran, while profit-taking and concerns about risks to Saudi energy facilities limited gains.

Commercial banks added the most to the index, followed by fertilizer and cement stocks. FFC led individual contributors with 698.73 points, while MEBL was the largest drag, subtracting 92.41 points; foreign investors recorded $60.58 million in net equity sales. Separately, the SBP raised its policy rate by 50 basis points to 12% on October 26, and its treasury-bill auction raised Rs1.91 trillion.
