Chinese park courts Pakistani pine nuts, rice
The Express Tribune • • 1 min read

A Chinese e-commerce park in Inner Mongolia is considering imports of Pakistani pine nuts, rice and sesame seeds, while looking to sell Chinese meat, textiles and farm goods in Pakistan. The Express Tribune reported that park head Wang Bin also discussed sharing beef-processing methods with Pakistani businesses to support exports to China. Pakistan exported 2.38 million kilogrammes of boiled beef worth $14.52 million, according to Chinese customs data cited in the report.
The park, established in 2023 with 47 million yuan in investment, has links with 135 companies and offers warehousing, online promotion and fulfilment services to 49 businesses. It is also developing cargo distribution and cross-border e-commerce channels, but the proposed Pakistan trade would still require import approvals, standards, logistics and market research. The discussions point to possible routes into China for Pakistani food exporters, rather than a confirmed trade agreement.
