Euronext CEO and chairman Boujnah to step down

Euronext said on Monday that Stéphane Boujnah will leave his posts as chief executive and board chairman in May 2027. Boujnah has headed the company since 2015, making the announcement a planned leadership transition at the European exchange operator.

Euronext also disclosed that it plans to put forward David Knibbe to take over from Boujnah. Knibbe currently leads NN Group, but his appointment still requires approval from regulators and shareholders, so the succession is not yet final.

For investors following exchange operators and financial markets, the announcement identifies both the timing of the change and the proposed successor. The regulatory and shareholder approvals are the remaining conditions stated by Euronext; the report gives no further details about the transition.
