The KSE-100 ended October 2026 at 166,409.25, down 2.09% for the month, as five weekly declines outweighed a late recovery. The index has now fallen 7.71% since the end of June, its third monthly loss in four months of FY27, while market capitalisation declined 2.51% to Rs4.66 trillion.
Mettis Global reported that Middle East tensions, higher energy prices and inflation concerns formed the backdrop to the State Bank’s 50-basis-point rate increase to 12% in the final week. Commercial banks, technology and communication, and cement were the largest sector drags; fertilizer was the leading positive contributor, led by FFC’s 522.35-point addition. Foreign investors recorded net equity selling of $71.26 million, while local investors bought the same amount.
