Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Reliance Industries climbed 11.6% on Monday, its strongest single-session gain in more than six years, after quarterly earnings exceeded analyst expectations. Net profit for the September quarter rose 40.6% to 255.48 billion rupees, supported by improved refining and petrochemical margins.
Business Recorder reported that stronger results from the oil-to-chemicals business and Jio’s telecom operations helped lift earnings, while retail profitability remained weak. Jio Platforms also recorded higher quarterly profit, although its shares ended 0.7% lower. Reliance finished at the day’s peak and led the Nifty 50, which advanced 1.7%; the company’s shares had fallen more than 17% so far in 2026. Analysts also pointed to record crude processing and subscriber growth, while noting that retail recovery and returns from new energy investments remain important to the outlook.
