Pakistan State Oil profit jumps to Rs25.56bn
Dawn • • 1 min read

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) earned Rs25.56 billion in after-tax profit in 1QFY27, compared with Rs9.39bn a year earlier, Dawn reported. Earnings per share rose to Rs54.44 from Rs20.00, as higher sales volumes and a stronger product mix outweighed some of the impact from increased finance costs. Consolidated profit, including Pakistan Refinery Ltd’s contribution, was Rs29.42bn.
PSO’s petroleum sales expanded 17.8pc year-on-year, against industry growth of 7.1pc, taking its market share up 4.2 percentage points to 45.9pc. Petrol volumes increased 23.2pc to 968,000 tonnes, while high-speed diesel sales advanced 12.8pc to 759,000 tonnes despite lower national diesel demand.
Elsewhere, Wafi Energy Pakistan’s nine-month 2026 profit climbed to Rs6.5bn from Rs3bn, and it declared a Rs4 per share dividend. Indus Motor’s 1QFY27 profit reached Rs7.4bn from Rs6.7bn as unit sales rose 34pc to 13,380; its chief executive cited growth drivers but warned of risks to the outlook.
