Roshan Packages Limited (RPL) reported a consolidated net loss of Rs1.79 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, compared with a profit of Rs30.29 million a year earlier, Mettis Global reported. Basic and diluted loss per share was Rs0.01, against earnings of Rs0.21 in the corresponding quarter.
Revenue from customers fell 11% to Rs3.20 billion, while net revenue declined 11% to Rs2.70 billion. Lower costs helped gross profit rise 21% to Rs239.79 million and lifted the gross margin to 8.88% from 6.50%, but operating expenses increased 35% to Rs149.97 million. Finance costs climbed 30% to Rs75.05 million and other income fell 53% to Rs6.15 million; after tax, the company recorded a quarterly loss.
Operating profit edged up 4% to Rs89.82 million, but profit before tax dropped 41% to Rs10.45 million. A Rs12.24 million taxation charge, compared with a tax credit of Rs12.53 million in the prior-year quarter, contributed to the shift to a loss. The figures show that improved gross profit did not offset higher overheads and financing costs.
