Pakistan receives another 59,132 tonnes of imported wheat at Karachi Port

A wheat carrier bringing 59,132.19 tonnes reached Karachi Port aboard MV Great Rainbow, with unloading under way at Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited on East Wharf. Profit by Pakistan Today reported that the cargo is meant to add to domestic supplies and support availability for consumption across the country.

The arrival comes after two vessels delivered a combined 101,000 tonnes of wheat and diammonium phosphate fertiliser to the port last week. The report said MV GOKOVA M carried 51,000 tonnes of wheat, while MV ZHONG CHANG 538 brought 50,000 tonnes of fertiliser; unloading of both cargoes was continuing at the time. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry credited port staff, terminal operators and transporters with managing the operations.
