These are indicative market rates from Investify's data feed (the ask side where a buy and sell price is published), not quotes from a bank or exchange company. Rates for low-value currencies such as the yen and the Indian rupee are rounded to two decimals at the source, so small amounts are approximate. Open-market and bank counter rates differ from interbank rates.

How the currency converter works

Every rate in the table is the number of rupees one unit of the currency costs. To convert between any two currencies, the converter goes through the rupee: it turns your amount into rupees, then into the currency you chose. Rupees to a foreign currency divides by that currency's rate; a foreign currency to rupees multiplies by it.

Amount in B = Amount in A x rate(A) / rate(B)
rate(X)
rupees per one unit of currency X (the rupee itself is 1)
spread
the dealer's gap between buying and selling price, as a percentage

A worked example

At today's indicative rate of Rs 276.73, 1,000 US dollars is Rs 276,730.00, and Rs 1,000,000 is 3,613.63 US dollars. Between two foreign currencies, 1,000 US dollars is 3,748.71 Saudi riyals, worked out through the rupee. If a dealer's spread is 0.5% (an example, not a quote), selling 1,000 dollars would bring you about Rs 275,346.35 instead, which is Rs 1,383.65 less than the plain conversion.

Which rate is this: interbank, open market or bank?

There is no single "dollar rate" in Pakistan. Several rates exist at the same time, and they are close but not equal. For today's open market and interbank rates side by side, see the dollar rate in Pakistan page.

RateWhat it isWho sees it
InterbankThe price at which banks trade currency with each other, published by the State Bank and the marketBanks, large corporates, economists
Open marketThe rate exchange companies and money changers quote across the counter, with a buying and a selling priceTravellers, small remitters
Bank counter or remittance rateThe rate a bank or transfer service applies to your transaction, usually with feesCustomers sending or receiving money

Investify shows an indicative market rate: a reference that moves with the market, not a quote from a particular dealer. Where the feed gives a buy and a sell price, we show the sell (ask) price. Use it to plan and compare, and always confirm the exact rate and fees with the bank or exchange company before you transact.

The spread: why you get less than the headline rate

A dealer buys a currency from you below the market rate and sells it to you above the market rate. The gap is the spread, and it is how they cover their costs and make money. The rate here is the selling (ask) price, so when you buy a foreign currency with rupees you pay about the rate shown. When you sell a foreign currency, or swap one for another, you get the lower buying price and end up with a little less than the plain conversion. The advanced option lets you enter the spread a dealer quotes, as a percentage of the rate, and takes it off when you sell. Compare two or three dealers for large amounts, because a small difference in spread is a real amount of money.

Sending money home and investing from abroad

If you earn abroad, the rupee value of your savings depends on the rate you actually receive after the transfer provider's margin and fees. Compare the final rupees delivered, not the advertised rate. Overseas Pakistanis can also open a Roshan Digital Account and buy PSX shares; read the Roshan Digital Account guide for how it works.

Why the rupee matters to PSX investors

The dollar rate feeds into the cost of imported fuel and raw materials, the rupee value of export earnings and dollar-linked contracts, and foreign investors' returns. Companies that earn in dollars tend to gain when the rupee weakens, while companies that import inputs can see costs rise. Watch the rate alongside gold, which is priced internationally in dollars, with the gold price calculator, and see how rising prices erode purchasing power with the inflation calculator.

FAQ

PKR Currency Converter: common questions

What is the dollar rate in Pakistan today?+

As of November 3, 2026 at 2:45 pm PKT, one US dollar is Rs 276.73 on Investify's indicative rate, so Rs 1,000 buys about 3.614 US dollars. Your bank or exchange company may quote a different buying and selling rate, so ask them before you transact.

Is this the interbank rate or the open market rate?+

It is an indicative market rate from Investify's data feed. Where the feed publishes a buy and a sell price we show the sell (ask) side, the price to buy the currency. It is a reference to help you plan, not an interbank settlement rate and not a quote from any exchange company. Interbank and open market rates differ, and each dealer sets its own.

Why does the exchange company quote a different rate?+

Dealers buy a currency from you at a lower price and sell it to you at a higher price, and the gap (the spread) covers their costs and margin. Counter rates also vary by city, amount and time of day. In the At the counter card, pick the spread your dealer quotes to see roughly what you would receive when you sell a currency.

How do I convert PKR to USD?+

Divide the rupee amount by the dollar rate. For example, Rs 1,000,000 divided by 276.73 is about 3,613.63 US dollars. To go the other way, multiply dollars by the rate. The converter does it in either direction and for any pair of the 23 currencies.

What are the Saudi riyal and UAE dirham rates?+

On the latest rates, one Saudi riyal is Rs 73.82 and one UAE dirham is Rs 75.42. Rates for the 23 currencies, including the pound, euro, Qatari riyal and Kuwaiti dinar, are in the table above the converter.

How often do the rates update?+

The data feed takes a new snapshot of the rates about every 15 minutes and this page checks for it about every 10 minutes, so a rate can be up to half an hour old; the time beside the table is when the rates were fetched. Exchange rates move during the day, and banks and exchange companies can update their own rate boards more often, so treat a quote you receive at the counter as the final word.

Can I use this rate to send money home from abroad?+

Use it as a benchmark. Money transfer services and banks set their own rate and fees, so the rupees your family receives will differ. Compare the final rupee amount after fees rather than the headline rate. Overseas Pakistanis can also invest in PSX shares through a Roshan Digital Account; see the guide linked below.
