Every karat, per gram and per ounce
| Karat | Per tola | Per 10 grams | Per gram | Per troy ounce |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 24K | Rs 411,500 | Rs 352,801 | Rs 35,280 | Rs 1,097,333 |
| 22K | Rs 377,208 | Rs 323,401 | Rs 32,340 | Rs 1,005,888 |
| 21K | Rs 360,063 | Rs 308,701 | Rs 30,870 | Rs 960,167 |
| 18K | Rs 308,625 | Rs 264,601 | Rs 26,460 | Rs 823,000 |
| Silver (pure) | Rs 6,794 | Rs 5,825 | Rs 582 | Rs 18,117 |
The 24K figure is the quoted market rate from Investify's data feed; 22K, 21K and 18K are worked out as the 24K rate x karat / 24. The feed does not state the unit of its silver price, so it is shown per tola after a check that it sits in a believable range against gold. Jewellers' shop rates can differ by a few thousand rupees per tola, and making charges are extra. Price your own piece below, convert units with the tola to gram converter, or work out your zakat.

Making charges and kaat
The jeweller adds making charges (banwai). When you sell it back, the buyer deducts kaat for wastage and solder. Neither comes back to you, so ask for both figures before you buy.

How the gold calculator works
Gold in Pakistan is priced per tola. The calculator converts your weight to tola, picks the rate for your karat, and multiplies. Pure (24K) gold uses the quoted rate; every lower karat is the same price scaled by its purity, because a 21K piece simply contains 21/24 as much gold. For silver the quoted silver rate is scaled by the fineness of the piece.
- W
- weight in grams (one tola is 11.6638038 g)
- R24
- 24K gold rate per tola
- K
- karat of the piece (24, 22, 21, 18...)
Making charges are added to the gold value (as a percentage, or per tola or per gram), and any other charges on your bill go on top. If you resell, the buyer takes a deduction (kaat) from the gold value and the making charges are not recovered. The At the jeweller card shows both sides so you can see the real round-trip cost of a piece.
Gold rate by karat
Here is the current rate for each common karat, with its purity. Every karat below 24K is worked out from the 24K rate as described above.
| Karat | Purity | Per tola | Per gram |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24K | 100% | Rs 411,500 | Rs 35,280 |
| 22K | 91.67% | Rs 377,208 | Rs 32,340 |
| 21K | 87.5% | Rs 360,063 | Rs 30,870 |
| 18K | 75% | Rs 308,625 | Rs 26,460 |
Some jewellers price 22K jewellery slightly differently from the pure 22/24 scaling, so a shop's 22K rate can differ a little from the table. Always compare like with like: the same karat and the same date.
Tola, masha and ratti
Pakistani jewellers weigh in traditional units. A tola is 11.6638038 grams, a masha is one twelfth of a tola (0.972 g) and a ratti is one eighth of a masha (0.1215 g). Small pieces such as rings and earrings are often described in masha and ratti. For quick conversions use the tola to gram converter.
Making charges, kaat and the real cost of jewellery
The price tag on jewellery is more than the gold in it. You pay the gold value, plus making charges, plus any other charges on the bill. When you sell, the buyer pays you the gold value minus a deduction. That gap is the cost of owning gold as jewellery rather than as bars or coins.
For example, take one tola of 22K jewellery at today's rate with 10% making charges and a 5% resale deduction (these two percentages are examples, not market figures: ask your jeweller for theirs). The gold is worth Rs 377,208, making charges add Rs 37,721, so you pay Rs 414,929. If you sold it straight back, the buyer deducts Rs 18,860 and pays you Rs 358,348, so the round trip costs Rs 56,581.
Gold held for investment, as bars or coins, avoids the making charge, so the gap to the market rate is much smaller. Gold jewellery is also useful as a store of value and a gift, so the right choice depends on why you are buying.
Why the gold rate changes every day
Gold is traded internationally in US dollars per troy ounce (31.1034768 grams). The rupee price per tola follows that international price and the dollar-rupee exchange rate, with local demand and dealer margins on top. A rise in either the dollar price of gold or the dollar rate raises the rupee price. Track the currency side on the PKR currency converter.
The result is a reference value; the actual market rate includes local premiums, so it is usually a little different.
Gold, silver and zakat
Zakat is due on gold and silver once you hold at least the nisab: 7.5 tola (87.48 grams) of gold or 52.5 tola (612.36 grams) of silver, for a lunar year. The rate is 2.5%. Price your holding here, then use the zakat calculator to add your other assets and work out the amount.

- Silver: the feed does not state the unit of its silver price, so it is shown per tola only after checking it sits in a believable range against the gold price
- Units: 1 tola = 11.6638038 g = 12 masha = 96 ratti; 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 g
- Karat purity = karat / 24; the 22K, 21K and 18K rates are the 24K rate x karat / 24
- Zakat nisab: 7.5 tola of gold, 52.5 tola of silver

FAQ
Gold Price Calculator: common questions
Which gold rate does this calculator use?+
As of November 3, 2026 at 2:45 pm PKT, the calculator uses 24K gold at Rs 411,500 per tola (Rs 352,801 per 10 grams) and 22K gold at Rs 377,208 per tola. The rate follows the international gold price in US dollars and the dollar-rupee exchange rate, so it can change during the day. The data feed takes a new snapshot about every 15 minutes and this page checks for it about every 10 minutes, so the rate can be up to half an hour old; the time above is when it was fetched. For the live Karachi Sarafa board rate, the announced rate and the rate history, see the Gold rate in Pakistan page.
How many grams are in one tola of gold?+
One tola is 11.6638038 grams in Pakistan (180 grains). It is divided into 12 masha, and each masha into 8 ratti, so one tola is 96 ratti. A masha is about 0.972 grams and a ratti about 0.1215 grams. The tola to gram converter on Investify converts any of these units instantly.
What is the difference between 24K and 22K gold?+
Karat measures purity in 24ths. 24K is pure gold (about 99.9%). 22K is 22 parts gold and 2 parts other metal (91.67% gold), which makes it harder and more suitable for jewellery. 21K is 87.5% gold and 18K is 75% gold. Lower karat gold costs proportionally less per tola because it contains less gold.
How do I calculate the price of gold jewellery?+
Weigh the piece, convert the weight to tola, and multiply by the rate per tola for its karat. Then add the jeweller's making charges (a percentage of the gold value, or a fixed rupee amount per gram or tola) and any other charges on the bill. For example, the value of a 22K piece is its weight in tola times the 22K rate. The calculator does this and shows the buying cost and the resale value.
Why is my jeweller's rate different from the rate here?+
Jewellers set their own selling and buying rates around the market rate, and they differ by city, shop and day. A shop's buying rate is lower than its selling rate. The table here is the market rate from Investify's data feed, so use it as a benchmark and ask your jeweller for their rate, making charge and resale deduction in writing.
What are making charges and kaat?+
Making charges are what the jeweller charges for crafting the piece, usually a percentage of the gold value or a rupee amount per gram or tola. Kaat is the deduction a buyer takes when you sell jewellery back, to cover wastage, stones, solder and the jeweller's margin. Making charges are generally not recovered when you resell, which is why jewellery loses value compared with bars and coins.
Is sales tax charged on gold jewellery?+
Tax treatment of jewellery changes with the federal budget, and we could not confirm a single current rate to quote here, so the calculator adds no tax by default. Ask your jeweller for an invoice that shows any sales tax or other charge separately, and enter its percentage under Other charges on the bill in More options.
How much gold makes zakat due?+
The gold nisab is 7.5 tola (87.48 grams) and the silver nisab is 52.5 tola (612.36 grams). Zakat is 2.5% of the value of what you hold once you have owned at least the nisab for a lunar year, along with your other zakatable wealth. Use the zakat calculator for the full calculation.
