Mettis Global • • 1 min read

Mettis Global reported that Unity Foods Limited (PSX:UNITY) has clarified its own position in a first information report tied to some present and past officers and directors, along with those of its wholly owned subsidiary. The company said it is not among the accused and that the case concerns the personal conduct of the named individuals, not the firm.
The SECP referred matters involving the company and its subsidiary, M/s Sunridge Foods (Pvt) Ltd, to the Federal Investigation Agency through a letter dated August 25, 2026 under Section 41-B of the SECP Act, 1997. The FIR, FIR-CCC-KHI-15/26, was registered by the FIA Corporate Crime Circle in Karachi on August 29, 2026 under sections 406, 420, 477-A, 109 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860. The company noted the allegations are unproven and must still go through due process.
As a body corporate, the company said it is legally distinct from its officers and directors and is assisting authorities in full while meeting all legal and regulatory duties. The notification to the Exchange was made in the interest of transparency so shareholders and the investing public remain informed, and investors were urged to exercise caution in trading the shares and to get independent advice before any investment decision.
