HUBC powers ahead as profits climb
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Business Recorder reported that Hub Power Company (HUBC) earned Rs12.8 billion in consolidated profit for 1QFY27, up 10 percent from a year earlier. The company declared an interim dividend of Rs5 per share, its fifth consecutive quarter at that payout level. Higher generation and associate-company earnings, alongside lower finance costs, supported the result.
Revenue advanced 27 percent, but a 44 percent rise in cost of sales limited gross profit growth to 5 percent and reduced the margin to 36.2 percent from 43.6 percent. Generation across HUBC’s portfolio rose 75 percent to about 2,311GWh, while profit from associates and joint ventures increased 18 percent. The company is also advancing its BYD-linked vehicle venture, with local assembly planned by end-2026, and has installed 29 EV charging stations. It has postponed a proposed data centre investment, citing high infrastructure and electricity costs.
