HUBCO plans to start assembling BYD vehicles in Pakistan in December 2026, with the Sealion 6 plug-in hybrid scheduled to lead the rollout. Profit by Pakistan Today, citing an Arif Habib Limited report on HUBCO’s analyst briefing, said the company’s BYD business has sold more than 10,000 vehicles cumulatively in Pakistan.
That business earned about Rs1.5 billion in 1QFY27, including Rs780 million attributable to HUBCO, according to the report. HUBCO is also considering more models, especially in the B and C segments, while the Sealion 6, B8 and B5 are expected around the end of calendar 2026.
A facility being developed near Karachi by BYD and HUBCO-associated Mega Motor Company is set to begin with annual capacity of 25,000 vehicles, with scope to reach 50,000. Local assembly would shift the operation from imported vehicles towards domestic production, while HUBCO has also indicated interest in EV charging infrastructure.
