Pakistan offers Argentina's expertise in agri machinery
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Argentina’s ambassador to Pakistan, Sebastián Sayús, has offered his country’s know-how in agricultural machinery, grain storage and post-harvest handling to help reduce losses in Pakistan’s farm output. Speaking at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, he said Pakistan loses about 10 to 20 percent of grain production and 35 to 40 percent of horticultural produce each year, citing weak storage and post-harvest practices. Argentina could support local adoption of silo bags, metallic silos and other storage solutions, alongside technology transfer and investment.
Sayús also pointed to possible partnerships in dairy and pharmaceuticals, including Argentina’s oncology medicines, and said its embassy would help businesses connect. Argentina exported about US$247 million worth of goods to Pakistan in 2025, while Pakistan’s exports to Argentina were around US$75 million. KCCI President Talat Mahmood called for broader product trade and better access for Pakistani exporters to Argentina, with the aim of making bilateral commerce more balanced.
