IMF board meeting expected next month

The IMF is expected to convene its Executive Board next month, but it has not set or formally announced a date, Mettis Global reported on November 4. The meeting would follow a staff-level agreement reached with Pakistani authorities on October 7 after talks held from September 23 to October 7.

The agreement could release about $1.2 billion, including $1 billion through the EFF and $210 million under the RSF, raising combined disbursements under the two programmes to roughly $5.7 billion. The Fund said implementation was broadly on track, estimating FY26 growth at 3.6%, reserves at around $21.5 billion at September-end and a broadly balanced current account; it also flagged geopolitical, energy-price and global-financial risks.
