Business Recorder • • 1 min read

The KSE-100 climbed 3,366.38 points, or 1.96%, to finish at 175,379.86 on Thursday, Business Recorder reported. The index first reached 176,604.51, then slid to 174,291.25 as investors booked profits before buyers returned around midday. Late selling trimmed some gains, but the benchmark still ended well above its session low.
The rise followed Wednesday’s 2.38% advance, when the index added 3,994.62 points and closed at 172,013.48. Business Recorder linked the international backdrop to hopes that the US midterm election result could ease geopolitical risks, while Brent crude fell nearly 9% overnight to below $100 a barrel. The source also noted that lower energy prices supported global bonds and equities, although Asian markets showed mixed moves, including declines in South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
At a glance
- The KSE-100 gained 1.96% to close at 175,379.86.
- Brent crude fell nearly 9% overnight, dropping below $100 a barrel.
