An exhibition in Doha featuring Pakistani architect Yasmeen Lari opened on October 26 and is scheduled to run through May 29, 2027. Called “Beyti Beytak, My Home Is Your Home”, the show gathers work by more than 40 architects and practices from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. The Express Tribune reported that Qatar Museums is presenting the exhibition at Fahad bin Ali Palace, in collaboration with the future Art Mill Museum.
Lari’s 2024 Community Centre is among the works, illustrating how bamboo, locally available materials and traditional building methods can support communities facing disasters. The structure was developed using approaches associated with the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan, which Lari co-founded in 1980 and which has worked on homes and settlements for people hit by earthquakes and floods. Curators say the wider exhibition explores architecture’s role in community life, regional heritage and social connection, with Pakistani architect Nayyar Ali Dada also represented.
