Petrol price slashed by Rs9.41, HSD’s by Rs5.56

Business Recorder reported that petrol will cost Rs352.59 per litre from November 6, following a reduction of Rs9.41. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is down Rs5.56 to Rs382.25 per litre, with OGRA announcing the revised ex-depot rates.

The regulator linked the changes to international pricing, premiums and incidental costs. Petrol’s benchmark fell to USD 105.945 per barrel from USD 111.45, while the HSD benchmark moved down to USD 106.90 from USD 110.08. The government also said a 30-day mechanism would require refineries to contribute Rs15 billion towards the petroleum levy, enabling a Rs14.71 reduction in petrol at the consumer end.

The Petroleum Levy remains Rs80 per litre for both fuels, alongside a Rs5 Climate Support Levy. Dealer and oil marketing company margins are unchanged at Rs9.98 and Rs7.87 per litre respectively.
