Pakistan, Russia identify IT opportunities in AI, cybersecurity, cloud
Mettis Global • • 1 min read

Pakistan and Russia have identified potential joint projects in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud services and enterprise software, following a bilateral IT collaboration webinar held in Islamabad. Mettis Global reported that participating companies were asked to develop practical proposals, including pilot projects, rather than limit discussions to broad cooperation. The event was arranged by the Pakistan Software Export Board and the University of World Civilizations Moscow.
The initiative comes as Pakistan’s IT and telecom exports reached $4.6bn in FY2025-26, approximately 20% above the prior year, and the sector seeks additional markets and higher-value assignments. Officials also discussed digital governance, workforce exchange and quantum computing, while the PSEB outlined steps for matching firms and moving from initial discussions to pilot agreements. The ministry said it would help address barriers to market access and review progress with the board and partners.
