Final tariff relief decision after review
The Express Tribune • • 1 min read

Nepra has provisionally raised the incremental electricity rate for agricultural and industrial users by Rs2.32 per unit, taking it from Rs22.98 to Rs25.30 per kWh. The Express Tribune reported that the 10.1% increase starts with November 2026 bills and will remain in place until the regulator completes a further review.
The rate covers eligible users served by distribution companies, including K-Electric. Nepra says bills issued before the decision was notified will be adjusted in later months, while the Power Division says the revised amount is a marginal rate under the package, not the general industrial tariff. The division also said the package has supported 6,940 GWh of additional consumption between December 2025 and September 2026, with Rs43.5 billion in benefits passed to consumers.
