SBP launches 16-week accelerator programme to strengthen digital payments

The State Bank of Pakistan has started a 16-week Mojaloop training initiative, scheduled to run from November 2026 through February 2027, with support from the Mojaloop Foundation. Its aim is to build Pakistan-based know-how for digital payment infrastructure through independent study and instruction from specialists.
The programme is intended for payment technology operators and providers, and gives participants access to Mojaloop’s technical community for continued knowledge-sharing. The Foundation, which maintains the open-source payment software, is contributing curriculum development and technical instruction. This is the first project under the partnership framework of SBP’s Innovation Hub, established under Vision 2028 to engage with financial technology organisations. Deputy Governor Saleem Ullah said the initiative would connect Pakistani talent with international expertise and help institutions develop practical payment solutions, supporting innovation and broader access to digital financial services.
