Business Recorder • • 1 min read

The KSE-100 moved above 170,000 in Wednesday morning trade, reaching 170,235.50 at 10:40am, Business Recorder reported. That put the benchmark 2,216.64 points, or 1.32%, higher as investors followed the US midterm vote and its possible bearing on Middle East peace discussions.
Gains extended across several market groups, with HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, PPL, POL, MCB, MEBL, NBP and UBL among the listed shares trading higher. The advance followed Tuesday’s 1,454.80-point rise, when the index finished at 168,018.87; the report also noted weaker US futures and declines in Asian markets. This is an intraday update, so the reported index level is not a closing figure.
