Govt to shift KP load management from feeders to transformers
Mettis Global • • 1 min read
The federal government has agreed to move load management in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from whole feeders to individual transformers, with the aim of reducing outages and extending electricity supply in high-loss areas. Mettis Global reported on November 4 that the transformer-based system is being implemented across the province.
The decision followed a meeting in Islamabad co-chaired by Power Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi. Federal leaders also called on consumers to pay outstanding electricity bills and help curb power theft, saying these steps would support continued supply improvements. The federal and provincial administrations agreed to coordinate on carrying out the roadmap.
