Emirates Group says first-half profit drops 66%
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Emirates Group’s after-tax earnings for the six months to September 2026 came to AED 3.6 billion, down 66 percent from a year earlier, Business Recorder reported. The Dubai-based company attributed pressure on its airline operations to the regional conflict and more expensive fuel, while revenue slipped 12 percent to AED 66.2 billion. Cargo activity helped cushion the decline in sales.
The airline’s pre-tax profit fell 68 percent to AED 3.7 billion, and passenger numbers dropped 22 percent to 21.8 million between April and September. Emirates said regional airspace curbs and changed travel patterns disrupted operations, but it would keep flying and continue investing. The group also cited its cash reserves in meeting aircraft pre-delivery costs and debt payments, and said work began in May on a $5.1 billion engineering and maintenance complex in Dubai.
