Petroleum sales rise 10% in October as diesel demand picks up

Pakistan’s petroleum sales totalled 1.48 million tonnes in October 2026, up 10% from September but 1% below a year earlier, Profit by Pakistan Today reported. Stronger seasonal high-speed diesel (HSD) demand drove the monthly increase, with HSD volumes rising 26% month-on-month to 662,000 tonnes. Petrol sales slipped 2% on both comparisons to 642,000 tonnes.

PSO sold 693,000 tonnes, an 8% increase year-on-year and month-on-month, although its market share eased to 46.9%. Wafi Energy’s 136,000 tonnes marked its highest monthly sales in 52 months, while APL sold 123,000 tonnes, up 6% monthly but down 1% annually. Across July-October FY27, total sales reached 5.6 million tonnes, 4% above the same period last year, largely on higher furnace oil use; excluding furnace oil, the four-month total was 5.2 million tonnes, down 2%.
