Sazgar clarifies Philippines three-wheeler plant belongs to distributor, denies equity investment
Profit by Pakistan Today • • 1 min read

Sazgar Engineering Works told the Pakistan Stock Exchange on November 3, 2026, that it has no ownership stake in a three-wheeler assembly facility in the Philippines. Profit by Pakistan Today reported that the plant was set up by Sazgar’s distributor, with the Pakistani company providing technical support. The clarification addressed social media claims that Sazgar itself had established or was preparing to build the facility.
Sazgar said it will supply completely knocked down kits for assembly in the Philippines, an arrangement it expects to lift three-wheeler exports and add to Pakistan’s foreign exchange earnings. The plant in Laguna province was inaugurated by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on October 29 and can assemble about 12,000 vehicles a year, including electric and combustion-engine models. Sazgar said it would notify the PSX and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan if it decides to invest in an overseas manufacturing site.
