Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has set three daily periods for household gas supply this winter, Profit by Pakistan Today reported on Wednesday. The company’s timetable provides gas from 6:30am to 9:00am, 12:00pm to 2:30pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm, corresponding to breakfast, lunch and dinner.
SSGC said the schedule follows federal government instructions to give domestic users priority during the colder season, when demand increases. The three windows amount to eight hours of supply a day, with dinner receiving the longest continuous period. SSGC distributes gas in Sindh and Balochistan to about 3.2 million customers, including around 4,500 industrial users, through a network of roughly 55,000 kilometres; the utility also faces reported losses, unaccounted-for gas and sector liabilities.
The timetable sets out when households can expect supply, while the company manages winter demand and available gas. Its operational arrangements are relevant to investors following SSGC and Pakistan’s gas distribution sector.
