Egypt offers Pakistan manufacturing hub to access US market
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Egypt has invited Pakistani businesses to consider setting up manufacturing operations there, using the country’s trade arrangements with the United States to reach American buyers, Business Recorder reported. The offer was discussed by Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh during meetings on the sidelines of the COMCEC session in Istanbul.
Their talks also covered stronger trade, investment and industrial cooperation, especially in textiles and cotton, along with joint ventures and participation in a forthcoming business forum. Khan’s separate meetings with Saudi and Tunisian officials addressed cooperation in agriculture, food security, minerals, auto parts, textiles and manufacturing. The discussions point to possible cross-border commercial partnerships, but the report describes proposals and opportunities rather than concluded deals.
