PIA commences fleet rebuilding, two aircrafts to arrive in January
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Pakistan International Airlines has begun expanding and refreshing its fleet after privatisation, Business Recorder reported on November 5. One Boeing 787 Dreamliner has arrived, a second is expected on December 15, 2026, and two aircraft around seven to eight years old are due to join in January 2027.
PIA’s operational fleet has risen from 15 aircraft at privatisation to 17-18, while 14 remain grounded; the airline says it will return more planes to service as engines and other resources become available. It plans Karachi-London direct flights from March 2027 and intends to broaden its network, but officials also acknowledged that some fares run Rs2,000 to Rs3,000 above competitors’ prices, partly amid higher jet fuel costs.
