CCP approves Nestlé–Platinum equity joint venture
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

The Competition Commission of Pakistan has cleared a joint venture involving Nestlé and Platinum Equity after its initial review, Business Recorder reported on November 7, 2026. The arrangement covers Nestlé’s waters and beverages business in several jurisdictions, including its bottled-water operations in Pakistan.
Nestlé Pakistan’s water business is to be moved as an operating business into a newly formed subsidiary, then transferred to a Nestlé entity within the joint venture structure. The CCP found no overlap with Platinum-controlled businesses in Pakistan and said the deal would not change existing market shares. It also cited available competing brands and concluded the transaction would not materially weaken competition, authorising it under the Competition Act, 2010.
