Pakistan’s oil marketing companies are adding fuel stations even as the government’s Auto Policy 2026-31 targets electric vehicles making up 30 per cent of new vehicle sales by 2030. Dawn reported that operators expect petrol use to stay firm, supported by two-wheeler and small-car sales, while also extending charging networks.
PSO opened 37 retail sites in 1QFY27, taking its national network to 3,727, and brought its chargers to 16 locations. Wafi Energy added 54 Shell outlets and nine charging points in the nine months to Sept 30; APL opened five stations and closed six weaker sites, leaving 816 operational outlets. APL also installed chargers with Hubco Green and other partners. Bike assembly and car sales rose year on year in the reported periods, while sales of SUVs, pickups, vans and jeeps declined.
