K-Electric offers to pay Rs5.73 billion to PLL in nine instalments amid RLNG pricing dispute
Profit by Pakistan Today • • 1 min read

K-Electric has offered to settle Rs5.729 billion owed to Pakistan LNG Limited through nine monthly payments of Rs636.5 million, running from October 2026 to June 2027, Profit by Pakistan Today reported. The proposal covers an RLNG price difference for supplies in May and June 2026, and is made under protest.
K-Electric wants PLL to withdraw notices seeking payment through standby letters of credit and to waive late-payment surcharges. The dispute is over spot LNG charges during force majeure conditions, despite an approved pricing mechanism intended to distribute costs among consumers and off-takers. K-Electric says it has paid about Rs4.2 billion in excess and claims total credits of approximately Rs9.9 billion; the Sindh High Court had restrained PLL and Habib Bank and Faysal Bank from encashing the letters of credit.
