Tesla plans to scale back Cybertruck output at its Texas factory around mid-2027 and redirect capacity to its Cybercab, Profit by Pakistan Today reported. Elon Musk announced the shift on X, but did not say whether production of the electric pickup would end altogether. The Texas site is the only plant currently making the model.
US Cybertruck sales fell from 38,965 in 2024 to 20,237 in 2025, and reached 11,586 in the first nine months of 2026, down 28% year on year. Tesla had installed annual capacity above 125,000 units at the factory, while third-quarter deliveries across its other vehicle category dropped 48% to 8,295, a figure that also includes models besides the Cybertruck. The company began paid robotaxi rides in parts of Austin in September 2026 and is aiming to make Cybercabs available for purchase by year-end, though Musk said most would stay in its own network.
