NEPRA raises incremental power tariff to Rs25.30 per unit for industrial, agricultural consumers
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

NEPRA has provisionally set the incremental electricity rate for industrial and agricultural consumers at Rs25.30 per unit, up from Rs22.98, starting with November 2026 bills. The Business Recorder reported that the decision covers consumers of ex-WAPDA distribution companies and K-Electric, and remains in force until the regulator completes a further review.
NEPRA said the Ministry of Energy had not provided the comprehensive cost assessment needed to establish the actual marginal cost of extra consumption. Its analysis estimated a consumer-end marginal cost of Rs29.65 per unit for the review period, but the authority said that figure was not a final determination; two members dissented and called for the package to be suspended until a verifiable review is submitted. The Power Division must provide its review by November 25, 2026, with remaining data due by December 3.
