Pakistan LNG Limited has moved the deadline for bids on two spot LNG cargoes from November 6 to November 10 after suppliers faced problems using the government’s new electronic procurement platform, The News reported. Bid submission and opening will both take place on the revised date, giving more suppliers time to participate.
The tenders, issued on November 4 after approval from the Prime Minister, cover deliveries scheduled for December 14 to 16 and January 9 to 11. The cargoes are intended to help meet winter gas demand, as international LNG is reported at around $32 per MMBtu and the delivered cost could reach $33.50 to $34 per MMBtu. Pakistan estimates it will need nine cargoes in December and 11 in January, while security concerns around the Strait of Hormuz have complicated supply arrangements.
